Request for Bids: Main Street Asphalt Fog Seal Project

The City of Rocky Ford is soliciting competitive bids from qualified contractors to perform an asphalt fog seal application on approximately 112,233 square feet of existing pavement along Main Street between Chestnut Avenue and Sycamore Avenue within the Main Street Business District. This project is part of the City's ongoing pavement preservation program and is intended to protect and extend the service life of a vital commercial corridor that is exhibiting signs of oxidation, surface wear, and aging.

The selected contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, traffic control, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. Project activities include pavement cleaning and preparation, coordination of any required surface repairs, application of an emulsified asphalt fog seal, protection of the treated surface during curing, traffic control in accordance with applicable regulations, and final site cleanup.

Bidders must be properly licensed, insured, and experienced in asphalt preservation and fog seal applications. The City requires all bidders to conduct an on-site inspection and verify field conditions prior to submitting a proposal. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder that meets all requirements of the Request for Bids. Work will be coordinated with the City of Rocky Ford Public Works Department and completed according to a mutually agreed-upon schedule and suitable weather conditions.
