CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

CITY OF ROCKY FORD

 Petitions for City Council candidates may be circulated beginning Tuesday, August 5, 2025.  Persons interested in running for office may pick up nomination petitions from the City Clerk's office at City Hall, 203 South Main, Rocky Ford, CO., any time after 7:30 a.m. on August 5, 2025.  The signed petitions must be returned to City Hall by 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2025.

The petitions need a minimum of 25 valid signatures.  Each signer must be a registered voter residing within City limits and within the respective Ward of the candidate. Mayoral candidates may obtain signatures from any registered voter in any of the three (3) Wards.  No registered voter shall sign more than (1) one nomination petition for Council and not more than (1) one nomination petition for Mayor.  The 2025 ballot will list two (2) Councilmember vacancies and one (1) Mayor vacancy.

          Ward I:       one (1) seat for a two (2) year term     

          Ward II:       one (1) seat for a two (2) year term

          Mayor:         one (1) seat for a two (2) year term

Every registered voter, 18 years of age or older may be a candidate and hold office in any municipality, if he/she has resided in the municipality and Ward for a period of at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the electio
