Named 2026 Colorado Municipal Clerks Association
Rookie of the Year
The City of Rocky Ford is proud to announce that City Clerk Michelle Grasmick has been named the 2026 Rookie of the Year by the Colorado Municipal Clerks Association (CMCA). She received the award at the association’s annual awards banquet on October 22, 2026, at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.
The Rookie of the Year Award recognizes new municipal clerks who demonstrate exceptional dedication, initiative, and commitment to excellence during their first two years in the profession.
Michelle was nominated by former Rocky Ford Mayor Duane Gurulé.
Grasmick joined the City of Rocky Ford in June 2022 in Accounts Payable, served as Interim City Clerk beginning in July 2025, and officially assumed the role in October 2025. Since then, she has led improvements to business licensing, elections administration, public records management, cemetery operations, and City Council agenda processes. These efforts have increased efficiency, reduced paperwork, improved compliance, and enhanced service to residents and businesses.
In addition to her operational achievements, Grasmick has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development through CMCA training and educational programs and has become a respected leader within City Hall.
The City of Rocky Ford congratulates Michelle Grasmick on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her continued dedication to serving the Rocky Ford community!
